Inside Line Promotions – SAPULPA, Okla. (Nov. 9, 2021) – Frank Flud added two wins and four podium finishes during four feature starts last weekend with the Lucas Oil National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by Hi-Plains Building Division.

Flud captured the Non-Wing feature on Friday and the Winged ‘A’ Class main event on Saturday during the NOW600 Nationals, which was hosted by Creek County Speedway.

“We’re still learning the new chassis and new things about it,” he said. “It was the first time we’ve had it at Creek County. We had a lot of speed. It was a good weekend overall for myself and our development drivers.”

Flud hustled from sixth to third in a Non-Wing heat race on Friday before winning the feature from the front row.

“Starting on the front was very fortunate,” he said. “It got us out front real quick and we were able to get to the racing line faster than Chelby Hinton. He stayed right on our tail the whole race, but we were able to pull off the win. We swapped things Saturday as he beat me to the preferred line and we ran second.”

The results flipped in Winged ‘A’ Class for Flud, who advanced from fifth to third in a heat race and from 10th to third in the A Main on Friday before winning both a heat race and the feature on Saturday.

“On Friday I started deep in the field and was able to get to third by the second lap,” he said. “We made a lot of good moves at the beginning of the race. Once we settled in I got to second at one point and on a restart challenged for the lead, but ultimately I was off a little on the setup and had to settle for third.

“On Saturday we made adjustments from what we learned Friday and that really helped us out. We were able to fight our way through the pack. There was a caution with about six laps to go. We took the lead a lap or two after the restart. I was pretty much right on the fence all the way around. It took me a couple of laps to build up momentum and I was able to use that to cross over the leader and take his line away in turns three and four to break his momentum.”

The two wins on the weekend give Flud 33 victories this season.

He plans to wrap up the season this Friday and Saturday at RPM Speedway in Crandall, Texas, with the Lucas Oil National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by Hi-Plains Building Division.
