September 1st saw the very successful Creek County Speedway Micro season come to a close with some familiar faces in victory lane and one very happy 1st time winner! I want to thank all the racers, crews, fans, and Creek County staff for making it a very enjoyable year! The Banquet is scheduled for Friday Dec.1st and more info on it will be announced soon as details get worked out. Hope to see everyone out to celebrate the Champions and Top Ten drivers and to just get to visit with people again as we will all be ready for anything racing related by then!
A Class
Jeffrey Newell jumped out to the lead on the 1st lap and led the rest of the way in claiming the win. Hunter Little was 2nd until Hank Davis passed him on lap 7. Davis gave chase to Newell but would have to settle for 2nd while Little held 3rd. Charles Corte came home 4th with Bobby McIntosh, stepping up to A Class this night, 5th. Little and Newell won heats.
Jr Sprints
Joshua Gentry grabbed the lead from Journey Hunt on lap 6 and went on to win his 10th A Feature of the season in dominating fashion! Hayden Mabe got around Hunt on the 15th and final lap to finish 2nd. Hunt was 3rd with Kylee Young 4th and Ki Manning bringing home 5th. Gentry also won the heat race earlier.
Resticted
Kale Drake came from his 5th row starting spot to pass early leader Aiden Silva on lap 11 to claim his 2nd A Feature win of the season! Spencer Mason passed for 2nd on lap 16 to finish in that spot. The 22 cars of Gage Laney and Rees Day Moran battled their way through the pack to grab the 3rd and 4th spots while Silva rounded out the top 5 in this very competitive class of young drivers! Trae Manning won a heat as Laney grabbed the other.
Outlaw
Hank Davis was impressive in leading all 20 laps to claim his 3rd A Feature win of the season in the Outlaw class! After going to the tail of the pack after an opening lap yellow, Danny James passed Curtis Jones on lap 10 to give chase to Davis. James could not close the gap and settled for 2nd. Tom Calico had a good night finishing a strong 3rd while Shane Hacker and Matt Taylor rounded out the top 5. Davis and James won heat races.
Sportsman
Kaimron Schoonover led from start to finish to win the 15 lap A Feature, his 1st win! After his fiery mid-season crash, you could see the confidence building in this young driver! Bobby McIntosh passed Justin Simpson on lap 5 to give chase to Schoonover but at the end would settle for 2nd. Larry Martinez finished 3rd ahead of the ever consistant Kayla Ward. Chris Doss came home 5th. Martinez won the heat.
Non Wing
Just as he did earlier in the A Class, Jeffrey Newell led all 20 laps to grab his 3rd Non Wing main of the season! Hank Davis finished 2nd. Greg Emeterio was running 3rd until the white flag when it looked like his rear axle snapped ending his night. Bailey Felkins making a rare appearance got 3rd from her last row starting spot. Lance Folsom was 4th with Thad Bennett bringing home 5th. Davis and Newell won the heats.
