Bates and Denton repeat, three new winners emerge Saturday night

Terry Mattox – SAPULPA, Okla. (May 18th, 2013) – Three new winners emerged this past Saturday night at the Creek County Speedway. Dena Wilson, Rob McQuary and Bobby Wolfepick up their first wins of the 2013 season at Creek County Speedway. Brent Bates picked up his fourth win of the year. Dee Denton picked up his second on the season.

12 cars checked in to battle at “The Creek” in the Mini Stock division. Dee Denton came out on top to pick up his second feature win of the season. Dee Denton started on the pole of the 20 lap feature event. Denton jumped out to the race lead at the drop of the green flag. Half way through the feature, Danny Ray battled for the lead, but didn’t have enough to get around Denton. On the final laps Daniel Ray Denton got around Danny Ray and took the second spot, with Jonathon Fisher and Sean Cusac rounding out the top 5.

Mini Stock A Feature (20 Laps): 1. 4-Dee Denton; 2. 44-Daniel Ray Denton; 3. 01-Danny Ray; 4. 816-Johnathon Fisher; 5. 07-Sean Cusac; 6. 57-Evan Smith; 7. 754-Michael Rodman; 8. 8-Travis Knox; 9. 62-Anthony Peterson; 10. 76-Jimmy Masterson; 11. 12-Dearl Harrison; 12. 12H-Spencer Hill.

Bobby Wolfe was another first time winner this Saturday night. 10 cars signed into the pit area in the fast and furious Factory Stock division. Bobby Wolfe started on the pole of the 20 lap main event, with Robert Watson to his outside. At the start of the feature, Wolfe jumped to the top spot, with Jimmy Owens right behind him. On lap 7, Josh Jefferies got around Owens to take the second spot. By lap 17, Justin Green got around Owens to take away the third spot. At the line, Wolfe would be victorious, Jefferies, Green, Owens and Butler rounding out the top 5.

Factory Stock A Feature (20 Laps): 1. 5W-Bobby Wolfe; 2. 6P-Josh Jeffries; 3. 25-Justin Green; 4. 1-Jimmy Owen; 5. 16-Cameron Butler; 6. 41-Aaron Cocca; 7. 4BJR-Justin Melton; 8. 03-Toby Cooper; 9. 110-Robert Watson; 10. 64-Chris Miles.

Rob McQuary came out on top in the down and dirty Dwarf Car division. 10 drivers lined up to do battle in the 20 lap Dwarf Car feature. At the start of the feature, Rick Quinn jumped out to the race lead, with Jeff Record in pursuit. Lead change on lap 4, as Jeff Record got around Quinn as well as Kent Kantor following. Lead changed occurred on lap 8, as Rob McQuary took the lead and led the remaining laps in the Dwarf Car A Feature. Jeff Record and Rick Cochran rounding out the top 3.

Dwarf Car A Feature (20 Laps): 1. 17-Rob McQuary; 2. 67-Jeff Record; 3. 88-Rick Cochran; 4. 2-David Cummins; 5. 27-Alex Bachtel; 6. 13-Rick Quinn; 7. 57-Tanner Phillips; 8. 14-Dale Bagby; 9. 03-Kent Kantor; 10. 10-Kevin Brewer.

Dena Wilson out dueled her son Brett Wilson, to pick up her first win of the 2013 season in the mighty Modified division. Dena started on the pole of the nights 20 lap main event. Outside starter Ho Dean, jumped into the race lead, with D. Wilson right behind. On lap 4, Dena Wilson got a run on Ho Dean and charged into the lead and didn’t look back until midway into the feature as her son Brett Wilson, gave her a run for her money, but was unable to get around mom. The Wilson gang took the top 2 positions at the end of the Modified feature with Steve Little rounding out the podium.

Modified A Feature (20 Laps): 1. 54-Dena Wilson; 2. 53-Brett Wilson; 3. 97S-Steve Little; 4. 39-Ho Dean; 5. 52-Chad Davis; 6. 3-Randy Bailey; 7. 7E-Jim Estes; 8. 10-Anthony Neel; 9. 53B-Shawn Rowell; 10. 47-Ted Bayouth; 11. 22X-Gary Frey

Brent Bates ran away with his fourth feature event win in the Champ Sprint division. With 14 cars taking the green flag in the A main event, Rookie Christian York jumped out the early race lead and led up to lap 13. Brent Bates upset the young rookies chance of winning his first Champ Sprint feature as Bates would pass and lead the remaining seven laps and capture his fourth feature of the 2013 season. Christian York and Jackie York rounded out the podium.

Champ Sprint A Feature (20 Laps): 1. 17-Brent Bates; 2. 89-Christian York; 3. 51-Jackie York; 4. 3-Jamie McDonald; 5. 16-Robby Sherrell; 6. 11-Ricky York; 7. 2-Mickey Walker; 8. 23-David Dutton; 9. 13W-Grant Wresche; 10. 13-Len Larkin; 11. 3X-Brian Gramm; 12. 69-Glen Passmore Jr; 13. 21-Billy Frazier; 14. 23A-Travis Ashwood.
