John Rittenoure - TULSA, Okla. (September 26, 2023) - With just four races left in the 2023 season the race is on for drivers to improve their positions in the Complete Well Testing Sooner Late Model Series top 10 point standings.
Brett Hansen leads the points chase as the first of the seasons final four events happens this Saturday at Creek County Speedway. Hansen, who is looking for his first points championship, will be keeping his eyes on Richard Shepler who sits in second. Shepler is still looking for his first victory, but has been steadily climbing in the standings working his way into second in recent weeks. With two victories Joseph Gorby has also been advancing and is only 145 points behind Shepler in third.
Saturday’s visit to the Creek County quarter-mile is the first of the season after rain washed out a scheduled May 13 race there. Kip Hughes won the last time the Complete Well Testing Sooner Late Model Series visited Creek County on May 13, 2022.

Sooner Late Model Series
The Sooner Late Model Series was formed in 2016 by Enid Speedway co-promoter Mark Brill. Brill felt there was not many opportunities for late model competitors to race in Oklahoma and the Sooner Late Model Series was formed. Now the series has grown beyond the borders of Oklahoma with events held in the neighboring states of Kansas, Texas and Arkansas.
