ASCS Sooner Region Opening 2024 Slate This Saturday

CONCORD, N.C. (March 18, 2024) The 2024 season for the ASCS Sooner Region kicks off Saturday, March 23, with a $ 2,000-to-win, $350 to-start showdown at Creek County Speedway.

A few updates on the 2024 season:

• Cody Cordell has been named Competition Director for the ASCS National Tour, as well as the Director for the Sooner Region. He is working to confirm all remaining dates on the 2024 schedule. Teams and Tracks can contact Cody at (918) 407-1879 or Ccordell@dirtcar.com.

• Originally a two-night weekend with Thunderbird Speedway in Muskogee on Friday, track management recently posted a drastically reduced lineup of events that, unfortunately, do not include the Oklahoma-based tour.

• Following this Saturday’s event at Creek County Speedway, the next confirmed dates will be co-sanctioned with the National Tour and Gulf South Region at RPM Speedway in Crandall, Texas, on Friday, May 3, and Saturday, May 4.

• All teams competing in ASCS competition must have a current DIRTcar Membership. That can be purchased at https://shorturl.at/nuIU2. The membership is $125 and is good for the 2024 calendar year.

• Anyone who purchased an ASCS Membership before the sanctioning body was acquired by World Racing Group will be covered. Drivers will just need to fill out the required DIRTcar paperwork.

• Event format will run under the normal draw/passing point system.

Saturday, March 23, at Creek County Speedway, is promoted by ASCS founder Emmett Hahn. Pits open at 4:00 P.M., with grandstands opening at 5:00 P.M. Hot Laps are slated for 7:00 P.M. with racing at 7:30 P.M. (CDT).

Saturday’s event will include Factory Stocks ($300 to win, $75 to start) and Sooner State Dwarf Cars ($200 to win, $50 to start). Starting at 6:00 P.M., Oklahoma racing legends Emmett Hahn, Jerry Stone, Jackie Howerton, and Shane Carson will sign autographs in the midway.

Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for youth (11-14), and free for kids ten and under. Pit Passes are $35. Creek County Speedway accepts cash and all major credit cards.

There will also be Chili Bowl tickets, hat, and shirt giveaways throughout the night.

Creek County Speedway is located at 18450 West Hwy. 66 between Sapulpa and Kellyville.
