Rick Roberts Returning As Creek County Speedway Competition Director

Bryan Hulbert - SAPULPA, Okla. (December 5, 2024) Returning to the role of Competition Director at Creek County Speedway, long-time official Rick Roberts will head weekly competition at the Oklahoma quarter-mile in 2025.

With over a decade of experience in the role, Rick will return to the tower after serving as Pit Steward for the past four years.

“I’m excited. When I was up there before, I was more nervous being new to that role, but now, I feel more comfortable,” stated Roberts. “I love racing, and I do it for the racers. Working at the track is my way to stay connected since I’m not in the car anymore, and I want the drivers to have a good atmosphere and treat them how I want to be treated. My goal’s always to create an experience that makes them want to return and know they are appreciated.”

A driver for 12 years before becoming an official, Rick has experience in Modifieds, Super Modifieds, and Sprint Cars, with the bulk of his racing experience in Micros. A former competitor at the Tulsa Shootout, these days Rick, can be heard calling teams to staging during both the Shootout and the Chili Bowl Nationals.

“I’ve raced Creek when Rick was the director, and he always did a great job. I know his work ethic, having worked with him for years at the Shootout and the Chili Bowl. He’s an asset to the sport and respected by the teams to make the fair call and uphold the rules, and that’s what you have to have in this position,” stated Creek County Speedway promoter, Matt Ward.

Information on the 2025 season will be available soon.

Creek County Speedway is located at 18450 West Hwy. 66 between Sapulpa and Kellyville. For more information on Creek County Speedway, including a complete lineup of events and directions, log onto http://www.creekcountyspeedway.co.
