14-Race Schedule For Wingless Sprints Oklahoma

INDIANAPOLIS – The USAC Wingless Sprints Oklahoma division has announced a 14-race schedule across five different tracks and two states.

The second season for the series under the USAC banner begins April 5 in Meeker, Okla., at Red Dirt Raceway, the first of three dates on the quarter-mile during the campaign.

Additional stops at Red Dirt will occur on Aug. 24 and Oct. 5.

Creek County Speedway is the most prevalent track on the docket, with seven events on April 26, June 6, June 21, July 26 and Aug. 16, as well as a season-ending doubleheader weekend Oct. 11-12 in Sapulpa, Okla.

Two visits to the three-eighths-mile 81 Speedway in Park City, Kan., are in the cards for the series on May 25 and July 13.

WSO also makes one trip each to the four-tenths-mile Oklahoma Sports Park in Ada, Okla., on June 29 and to the quarter-mile Caney Valley Speedway in Caney, Kan. on Sept. 7.

Brett Wilson of Sapulpa captured last year’s WSO title after an ultra-competitive season, in which the top three in the standings were separated by a scant 12 points in the final tally.

Wilson won three features, while Danny Smith won a series-high four. Craig Carroll, Matt Sherrell, Andrew Deal and Johnny Kent won one race each.
