IRONMAN 50 CHALLENGE RETURNS TO CREEK COUNTY SPEEDWAY

(TULSA, Okla.) August 30, 2016 - For the second time, Creek County Speedway is gearing up for the Ironman 50 Challenge, set to go green on September 10th, 2016.

Last year's Ironman 50 Challenge saw David Stephenson in victory lane at the conclusion of the 50 lap race taking home over $1200. Stephenson who started 7th at the beginning of the race, found himself working his way through the field, but found himself stopped on the race track bringing out the yellow flag. Stephenson restarted in the rear of the field, and eventually found himself fighting for the lead on lap 35, and making the pass on Brian McClelland on lap 40 to go on to win the race.

With the purse, raised by Tire Pros, Same Day Auto Repair, D&E Supply, and Creek County Speedway, over $20,000 will be paid out to all Non-Wing Champ Sprint drivers competing in the evening's event, compared to last year's purse of just under $5,000.

The event started as a one-time addition to the regular racing program at the end of last year's season. With the interest and support of the drivers and sponsors, the officials at Creek County Speedway, have decided to make the Ironman 50 Challenge a yearly event, concluding the racing season.

The Creek County Speedway's Dwarf Car Division will also be racing that evening for over $3,000 in purse funds at the end of two 20-lap feature events. Additional funds have been raised by Creek County Speedway and the drivers of the Dwarf Car Division.
